Karl-Vic Ong 5/5 a month ago As a general practitioner, I routinely refer patients and clients here for after hours or specialist attention. Staff are caring, helpful and so good at what they do. |
Dilanthi Demel 1/5 a month ago I would never ever go back there again, I loved my angel so much and handed her to advanced vet care thinking that they’ll treat her good care, but not a single thing happened according to my expectations. The staff was so rude and didn’t care about your pet whatsoever, our pet was admitted for consecutive days and when we asked for updates, the reception staff said that there too busy and that they don’t have the time to give us updates, The vets there just don’t care, after they see one patient, they don’t even come out of the room, they just hide and go inside through their internal door, so people don’t get the chance to talk to them. This is the worst place to take your pet to, I’m regretting every second that I took my Angel here |
Ella Cridland 5/5 a month ago Thank you to the lovely team at Advance Vetcare for taking such great care of Rufus over the 5 nights he was in hospital after surgery. The team were very genuine and kind, giving me regular updates and I could tell they really wanted what was best for Rufus. The reception staff have all been lovely over the phone too and very understanding. Thanks guys :) |

Jason Lui 5/5 8 months ago Need to book tickets online, even if you are a zoo member. There are two sessions a day: one in the mornings and one in the afternoon/evening. Evening is very quiet. We were the only ones in some of the exhibits and the only ones riding the carousel. We were also the only ones in the dinosaur area for a period. The main food area was closed but the giraffe cafe was open at dinner time. |
Reina Noah 5/5 10 months ago This is one of the best zoos in the world. From the amazing reptile house that I can spend hours walking through, to the world class butterfly house which is just so beautiful it has to be experienced to really understand. |
Ian S 4/5 4 months ago The zoo has come a long way. Staff are fantastic. Animals look comfortable. Exhibitions are good but could do with some colour coding of the paths to match the maps. Big on recycling – bravo. We even had good coffee and food that didn’t break the bank. Well done zoo. |

Rachel T 1/5 a month ago Truly awful and upsetting experience resulting in a missed carcinoma, complex mammary tumour, and ear infection in my dog who was adopted from the Lost Dogs’ Home. Upon adopting Lola, we were informed of a skin condition including areas of hair loss and itchy skin on the outside of her ears. Within a couple days however, we noticed dark discharge in her ear canal. Suspecting an overlooked ear infection, we called to make an appointment – they said it would be weeks before an available time slot. Luckily due to a cancellation, were we able to take her in. The vet confirmed the infection in both ears. I copped the consultation and medication fee of $180, only days after she was released from this very clinic! Having such a poor experience, we decided to take Lola to Kensington Veterinary Clinic to get a second opinion on her health. The vet immediately identified numerous lumps around her mammary glands. She was shocked that they had been missed by the vet at Frank Samways and stressed some urgency in having them removed. We tried to contact Frank Samways and the Lost Dogs’ Home. They took weeks to respond despite numerous emails and calls. They had no intention of seeing her to make their own assessment of her health. We hoped that they would help with the cost of the surgery. They suggested that the lumps had miraculously appeared within the two weeks of her adoption. Our Kensington vet couldn’t believe it. We went ahead with the $1400 surgery with Kensington Veterinary Clinic. Sadly, the surgery confirmed a carcinoma diagnosis. I am so thankful that we decided to get a second opinion. Had we trusted Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic, those lumps may have been overlooked for months with cancer spreading. Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic have handled this with zero compassion for an animal’s life and are now washing their hands of any responsibility. I’m left to speculate about the vets at Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic – are they simply negligent or, did they deliberately hide their knowledge of these obvious masses to ensure quick adoption turnover at the Lost Dogs’ Home? Either way, I would caution against entrusting Frank Samways Veterinary Clinic with the welfare of your pet. I am beyond grateful for the care and professionalism at Kensington Veterinary Clinic and hope others choose them instead. |

Judy Puurand 1/5 3 weeks ago I have been attending this vet for well over 25 years. Cameron was wonderful, caring and very knowledgeable. I always felt my fur kids were in the best care. Fast forward to January, 2021 and I was absolutely gob smacked with what happened. Change of management – let me point out. I booked my dog in for annual vaccination. I produced my dogs vaccination passport that I have been using since he was a pup. I was informed that they would not be filling out this passport as new management do not want any other vet clinic details displayed. I shrugged this off when in reality probably should have left. It is no big deal, however, I did think that this was a little over the top. So the vet gave a simple check over and was vaccinated. I once again produced my pet passport in hope that maybe the vet would just fill it out and all vaccination records could be kept in one booklet. I was wrong, instead I got a long card board envelope size record. I was pretty disappointed as the pet passport has a vet stamp on the rear of the booklet, no other identifying marks. Why not fill out the passport? I was also not afforded an opportunity to say goodbye to Cameron, only told he was busy with the new owner. As a customer of his for 25 years I think the decision for Cameron to see me should have been his to make. I was disappointed. Unfortunately my 25 years of pet care for my fur kids has come to an end at this clinic. |

Luong Tuo 5/5 a month ago I would like to express my review on Dr Rose Schmidt at Lort Smith. Rose is a very kind and understanding doctor. I believe Rose might be one of the best doctors that I’ve dealt with. If you would like to see a trustworthy doctor who doesn’t just take you for a number, rush you or have any sympathy, Dr Rose is the person to see! I also want to extend my thanks to Dr Charissa, she went above and beyond to make sure my cat had all the right antibiotics upon discharge. I have seen numerous doctors at the Lort Smith and I have to admit they are not all the same. My experience with Rose & Charissa was astounding! Thank you both for the amazing work that you do for our fur-community, please know you are appreciated. :) |

Rachel Parnis 5/5 4 months ago Fantastic cattery – would recommend to everyone! So much attention to detail for the care of your cat – they have options for food, bed, type of litter, litter box etc, which makes for a comfortable stay for your cat! Bonus – they send you photo updates of your cat! |
Belinda Crawford 5/5 4 months ago Ruth runs a highly organised, clean, tidy and loving cattery. Strict vaccination and flea treatments rules are in place which made me feel very comfortable that my kitten was in safe hands. The choice of enclosure sizes was great. Our little kitten loved his week long stay. Highly recommend meow mansion to anyone. |

Kathryn Lucas-Healey 5/5 3 months ago Caring and thorough, and they never try to upsell us things we don’t need (which is one thing that will always destroy my trust in a vet). They are under tonnes of pressure at the moment but never cut corners. Highly recommended. |

james stirton 5/5 2 years ago Russell is simply the best vet I have ever come across. I have traveled across Melbourne to him for three dogs now and his care whether they are pups, dogs or at the end of their lives is incredibly caring, empathetic, considerate and with the most expert advice. I can’t thank him enough or recommend him high enough. |
